The Constitution

Article I - Name

Stanford Polish Student Association.


Article II - Purpose

The purpose of the Association is to spread awareness about Polish culture among Stanford students and foster a stronger community for Poles at the university through quarterly Poland-oriented activities.


Article III - Membership Requirements

Membership is open to all Stanford students in degree granting programs. Affiliate membership is open to all interested in the activities of the Association. Affiliate members, however, do not partake in the decision making process and cannot receive any of the club’s funding.


Article IV - Leadership Structure

  1. The Board of Directors consists of three members: President, Vice-President and Financial Officer. The role of the President is to plan an organize Association activities. The Vice-President is to assist the President in this duties. The Financial Officer is responsible for the Association finances and compliance with the University regulations.

  2. The members of the Board of Directors are elected from the member body each spring quarter for the following academic year through a majority vote.

  3. If an officer does not fulfill her/his duties, a majority vote can be performed to remove them from their position.

  4. In a majority vote there are more votes cast in favor than against. In order for a majority vote to be valid at least 50% of members have to cast a vote.


Article V - Dissolution of Organization

Should the Association be dissolved, all funds and property shall be transferred to Bechtel International Center.


Article VI - Procedure to Amend Constitution

The constitution can be amended by the Board of Directors if a consensus is reached through a unanimous vote.
